What a year it has been! I can truly say I don’t think any of us could have predicted the ups and downs, bumps and bruises, surprise celebrations, bright spots and the true strength we would all need to get through 2020. Through all of this, it has given me another opportunity to reflect on the importance you ALL play in the lives of our athletes.
I have had the privilege of witnessing so many of you going above and beyond stay connected to our athletes. Whether it has been through Zoom, one on one phone conversations, creating new activities, or engaging others in your outreach to them-THANKYOU! I see you and feel your passion. Our athletes, maybe even more so than we do, are feeling the impact and isolation of this pandemic. While the hope is on the horizon, we still have a bit further to go, and I am so grateful for each of you who have stepped up and continue to give all your heart and soul to our athletes. This is so much more than a job for many of you, as it’s an opportunity to positively impact the lives and wellbeing of our athletes. I am looking forward to the day when we can get back to the sports we know and love, it will be a celebration!
During this holiday season and all the limitations it brings, I hope you all make the most of this time together with your families. Although it will look and feel very different than years past, we can reflect as well as look forward to the holidays of 2021. I wish you and your families a safe, healthy, and warm holiday season and all the hope of a wonderful new year ahead.
